Organized in Morgantown, the Riverfront Museums Inc. was established as a way to preserve the history of Monongalia County. Based inside the Seneca Center, a historic glass factory, the museum takes visitors through the history of Morgantown with displays of glass and crystal created during the industry's heyday during the late 1800s to late 1900s, when more than 30 glass factories resided in the area. Hours vary and visitors are recommended to call ahead.

Comer Museum

Open to visitors by appointment, the Comer Museum contains displays concerning the history of coal, natural gas and oil industries. Artifacts, pictures, maps, and scale and life-sized models of equipment are found in the museum, which is housed in the Mineral Resources Building on the WVU Evansdale campus.

Cook-Hayman Pharmacy Museum

Resembling a pharmacy from the late 1800s, the Cook-Hayman Pharmacy Museum has been collecting items since the '60s. Visitors can see antique items used more than 100 years ago, such as furnishings, containers and related paraphernalia, including apothecary jars, mills, bottles, scales and much more. Tours of the museum, which is found at the WVU School of Pharmacy, are available by appointment.

John Henry Museum

Spanning almost 100 years, the exhibits items range between the dates of 1892 and 1980. Visit this museum Wednesday through Saturday from 2pm to 5pm.
